Spa concerts in the imperial town
An added bonus for holidaymakers at the GOLDENER OCHS
Unique, variety-packed & lively – that's the spa concerts in the imperial town of Bad Ischl every year from May onwards.
The Bad Ischl Spa Orchestra
If you walk through the spa park from the beginning of May onwards you finally hear the swinging operetta melodies again produced by the Bad Ischl Spa Orchestra.
The Bad Ischl Spa Orchestra, which has been broadcasting the works of Franz Lehár, Oscar Straus, Emerich Kálmán and other masters associated with Bad Ischl since time immemorial, has survived changing times and tastes.
A musical experience just like in the olden days
Its unique sound and programme, as well as the most intensive repertoire of all Austrian spa orchestras have in the meantime become a mark that is amazingly resistant to the spirit of the times that levels out everything.
For the constantly growing audience the free admission concerts by the spa orchestra, chamber orchestra, spa quartet, music bands, chamber music ensembles and folk music groups are considered to be real highlights during their stay in the imperial town.
Franz Lehár and Bad Ischl
Franz Lehár would have loved it. It's not without good reason that he created his best works in his villa on the Traun river. He could often also be found at the Goldener Ochs, where he had heated discussions with some of his contemporaries about music. His regular seat at our hotel in the Lehárstube has still been preserved in his honour today.
