A fine drop of wine
Annual Weindorf zu Ischl
One fixed agenda item on the events calendar is the annual Weindorf zu Ischl in the spa park. Numerous winegrowers from Austria and Friaul offer their fine wines for tasting. You are also well catered for.
Not just for wine lovers
Around the Whitsun weekend, numerous winemakers set off for Bad Ischl every year. In their luggage they have their precious wines, which are just waiting to be tasted by you.
The Kaiserwein from the Mad wine estate is inextricably linked to Bad Ischl. Born in 2008 during the Emperor's Festival in Bad Ischl, magnificently presented in the spring of 2009 as fitting for a Kaiserwein (Emperor's wine), the Kaiserwein is as much part of Bad Ischl now as the "Zaunerstollen" sweet treat made here. Naturally the Kaiserwein is also represented on the wine menu at the Goldener Ochs.
Much more than "just" wine
Good wine makes you hungry. It's a good job that several refreshing stops await you. The best thing is to head for the "open fire" and enjoy the wonderful Holzknecht gnocchi, ideally with sauerkraut.
PS: The next Weindorf zu Ischl is being held at the end of May 2016.
