This 4-star hotel and restaurant Goldener Ochse is one of the oldest restaurants and hotels in the imperial spa town of Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut. Is only bought directly from the hunter greiner from the hunting area around ischl and from the austrian federal forest(öbf) from rettenbachalm region. Our chef is still removing the hide and further processes the meat.
Is purchased from the farm eislbauer from eck and from the prombergerbäurin from gosau. In the spring, the cattle enjoy the warm barns before walking onto the pastures.
Is a pasture lamb in salzkammergut from beiskammer farmers, that is still grazing in the late autumn. During the winter, the pasture lamb stays in a spacious, interspersed barn.
Is bought from the poultry company wech. Wech farmers can be found throughout austria. About 80% of it in kärnten, on the koralpe´s and saualpe´s hillsides. The food is strictly controlled und consists of cereal grains, corn grits, peas, sunflower seeds and soybeans.
Our dairy products
Come from the company gmundner dairy. The domestic dairy company obtains the milk exclusively from farmers from the region who offer high-quality milk.
Are freshly caught from the lakes of salzkammergut. The reinanke (whitefish, from the genus coregonus) is caught wild from the traunsee, where mr lahnsteiner casts his nets for us. Trout and char are freshly caught from the lake fuschl from the castle fishery.
